Reviewer Guidelines

Introduction

The Journal of Advanced Ayurveda Research & Innovation (JARI) relies on the expertise, integrity and professionalism of peer reviewers to maintain the quality, credibility and scientific rigor of published research.

Peer review is an essential component of scholarly publishing and plays a vital role in ensuring that manuscripts meet accepted academic, scientific and ethical standards.

JARI sincerely appreciates the valuable contributions of its reviewers in advancing evidence-based research and scientific excellence.

Reviewer Responsibilities

Reviewers are expected to:

  • Provide objective, fair and constructive evaluations.
  • Assess manuscripts solely on scientific merit and scholarly quality.
  • Maintain confidentiality throughout the review process.
  • Identify strengths, weaknesses and areas requiring improvement.
  • Submit reviews within the requested review period.
  • Disclose any actual or potential conflicts of interest.
  • Report concerns regarding plagiarism, ethical issues, duplicate publication, data manipulation or scientific misconduct.

Confidentiality

All manuscripts received for review must be treated as confidential documents.

Reviewers must not:

  • Share manuscripts with unauthorized individuals
  • Use unpublished information for personal or professional advantage
  • Discuss manuscript contents outside the review process
  • Confidentiality must be maintained both during and after completion of the review

Conflict of Interest

Reviewers should decline review invitations when:

  • A personal relationship exists with any author.
  • A financial conflict of interest exists.
  • A professional or institutional conflict may affect objectivity.
  • Any circumstance could reasonably compromise impartial judgment.
  • Potential conflicts should be disclosed immediately to the Editorial Office.

Evaluation Criteria

Reviewers are requested to evaluate manuscripts according to the following criteria:

Originality

  • Is the work novel and relevant?
  • Does it contribute meaningful knowledge to the field?

Scientific Quality

  • Are the objectives clearly stated?
  • Is the methodology appropriate?
  • Are the results valid and adequately presented?

Ethical Compliance

  • Are ethical considerations adequately addressed?
  • Is there evidence of ethical approval where required?

Clarity and Organization

  • Is the manuscript logically organized?
  • Is the language clear and understandable?

References

  • Are references appropriate, current, and relevant?

Overall Contribution

  • Does the manuscript contribute significantly to scholarship, clinical practice, education, innovation or scientific understanding?

Review Recommendations

Reviewers may recommend one of the following outcomes:

  • Accept
  • Minor Revision
  • Major Revision
  • Reject

Review recommendations are advisory.

Final publication decisions remain the responsibility of the Editorial Board.

Constructive Feedback

Reviewers are encouraged to:

  • Provide specific comments.
  • Offer practical suggestions for improvement.
  • Maintain professional and respectful language.
  • Focus on scholarly content rather than personal criticism.

Review Timeline

JARI aims to complete peer review efficiently while maintaining quality standards.

Reviewers are generally requested to submit evaluations within:

10–15 working days

Reviewers who require additional time should notify the Editorial Office promptly.

Ethical Conduct

Reviewers are expected to uphold the highest standards of academic integrity, professionalism, impartiality and confidentiality.

Any suspected misconduct identified during review should be reported to the Editorial Office immediately.
