Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement
The Journal of Advanced Ayurveda Research & Innovation (JARI) is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics, scientific integrity, transparency, and academic excellence. All authors, reviewers, editors and editorial board members are expected to adhere to internationally accepted ethical principles throughout the publication process.
JARI promotes responsible research conduct and is committed to ensuring the quality, originality, credibility and integrity of all published scholarly work.
- Editorial Responsibility
Editorial decisions are based solely on the scholarly merit, originality, scientific quality, ethical compliance, clarity and relevance of submitted manuscripts to the journal's scope.
Editors shall evaluate manuscripts without discrimination based on nationality, ethnicity, gender, institutional affiliation, religion, political beliefs or personal considerations.
Editorial decisions are made independently and are not influenced by commercial, financial or organizational interests.
- Author Responsibilities
Authors submitting manuscripts to JARI must ensure that:
- The submitted work is original and has not been previously published.
- The manuscript is not simultaneously under consideration by another journal or publisher.
- All listed authors have made substantial scholarly contributions to the work.
- Data, results, and findings are presented accurately and honestly.
- Appropriate acknowledgment is provided for the work of others through proper citation and referencing.
- Any financial, institutional or personal conflicts of interest are disclosed at the time of submission.
- All applicable ethical approvals and permissions have been obtained where required.
- Plagiarism and Academic Misconduct
JARI maintains a zero-tolerance policy toward plagiarism, duplicate publication, data fabrication, data falsification, citation manipulation and other forms of academic misconduct.
All submitted manuscripts may undergo editorial screening and plagiarism assessment prior to peer review.
Manuscripts found to contain significant plagiarism, duplicate publication, falsified data, manipulated images or other unethical practices may be rejected, corrected or retracted as appropriate.
- Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Generative Tools
Artificial intelligence tools may be used for language editing, grammar improvement, formatting assistance or similar editorial support functions.
Artificial intelligence systems, software or language models cannot be listed as authors.
Authors remain fully responsible for the originality, accuracy, integrity, validity and scientific content of their manuscripts.
Where substantial AI-assisted content generation has been utilized, authors should disclose such use appropriately within the manuscript.
- Reviewer Responsibilities
Reviewers play a vital role in maintaining the quality and integrity of scholarly publishing.
Reviewers are expected to:
- Treat all manuscripts as confidential documents.
- Provide objective, constructive and timely evaluations.
- Declare any conflicts of interest that may affect their impartiality.
- Refrain from using unpublished information obtained through peer review for personal advantage.
- Notify the editorial office of any suspected plagiarism, ethical concerns or scientific misconduct.
- Conflict of Interest
Authors, reviewers, editors, and editorial board members must disclose any relationships or interests that could reasonably be perceived as influencing their professional judgment.
Potential conflicts may include financial, academic, institutional, professional or personal relationships.
- Research Ethics
Research involving human participants, animals, biological materials, or sensitive data should comply with applicable ethical guidelines and institutional requirements.
Where appropriate, authors may be requested to provide evidence of ethical approval, informed consent or other supporting documentation.
- Corrections, Retractions, and Expressions of Concern
JARI is committed to preserving the integrity of the scholarly record.
Where necessary, the journal may publish corrections, corrigenda, expressions of concern or retractions to address significant errors, ethical concerns or misconduct discovered after publication.
Such actions will be undertaken transparently and in accordance with established editorial standards.
- Publication Integrity
The journal is dedicated to promoting ethical, transparent, evidence-based and responsible scholarly communication.
Allegations of misconduct, ethical violations, plagiarism, authorship disputes or other concerns will be investigated fairly, objectively and confidentially by the editorial office.
Appropriate corrective actions will be taken when necessary to protect the integrity of the scientific record.
- Acceptance of Ethical Responsibilities
By submitting a manuscript to JARI, authors acknowledge that they have read, understood and agreed to comply with this Publication Ethics & Malpractice Statement.
The journal reserves the right to take appropriate editorial action in cases of suspected ethical violations or misconduct.
- Authorship and Contributorship
JARI follows internationally recognised principles of authorship and accountability. Authors must have made substantial scholarly contributions to the work, participated in drafting or critically revising the manuscript, approved the final version for publication, and accept accountability for the integrity of the work. Gift, guest and ghost authorship are not permitted. Where appropriate, authors should report individual contributions using the CRediT contributor taxonomy.
- Editorial Board Member Submissions
Manuscripts submitted by the Editor-in-Chief, Managing Editor, editorial board members or other journal editors receive no preferential treatment. Such submissions are assigned to an independent editor without a relevant conflict of interest. The submitting editor does not participate in reviewer selection or the final editorial decision.
- Complaints and Appeals
Authors and other stakeholders may submit reasoned complaints or appeals to the Editorial Office. Appeals concerning editorial decisions must identify a substantive scientific, ethical or procedural basis for reconsideration. Complaints involving an editor will be handled independently by another qualified editor or designated journal representative who has no relevant conflict of interest.
- Data Availability
Authors must include a Data Availability Statement where applicable. Research data should be deposited in an appropriate repository or made available on reasonable request unless legal, ethical, privacy, confidentiality or participant-consent restrictions prevent sharing.
- Preprints
Posting a manuscript on a recognised scholarly preprint server does not normally constitute prior publication. Authors must disclose any preprint at submission and provide its persistent identifier or link. Following publication, authors are encouraged to update the preprint record with the DOI of the final published JARI article.
- Case Reports and Identifiable Information
Case reports or manuscripts containing identifiable participant information, photographs or clinical images require appropriate written informed consent for publication. Authors must retain evidence of consent and provide it to the journal if requested.
- Artificial Intelligence and Confidentiality
Artificial intelligence systems cannot qualify as authors. Authors remain responsible for all AI-assisted content and must disclose substantial generative-AI use. AI tools must not be used to fabricate citations, data, images, participant information, results or scientific findings. Editors and reviewers must not upload confidential manuscripts into public AI systems where doing so could compromise manuscript confidentiality, intellectual property or participant privacy.
- Advertising and Sponsorship
JARI currently does not accept commercial advertising. Any future advertising or sponsorship arrangements will remain independent of editorial evaluation, peer review and publication decisions.
